What is Panaudia?

A network spatial audio engine is a server for connecting people across the network in shared, virtual audio spaces. To achieve this Panaudia combines a WebRTC audio server with a powerful ambisonic mixer and a binaural rendering engine.

We have an easy-to-use audio mixing service called Panaudia Cloud. It provides high quality spatialised audio for large multi-user spaces and is simple to integrate into existing web based virtual worlds that need better audio rendering.

You can also download Panaudia Space which is a stand-alone version of the Panaudia server which is free for certain non-commercial uses.

We are building Panaudia step by step. We have started with support for spatial audio in web browsers with the WebRTC interface and JavaScript SDK. We will be adding additional interfaces to Panaudia's virtual spaces, these different interfaces can be combined allowing heterogeneous platforms to share audio spaces.

We are very close to releasing Panaudia Link, a MacOS app, which lets you stream uncompressed object based audio into a Space and multitrack ambisonic out.

This is the current technical roadmap:

  • A WebRTC spatial audio mixing server.
  • Javascript SDK.
  • Detailed documentation of JavaScript SDK.
  • Panaudia Cloud - A hosted audio mixing service.
  • Spaces REST API for hosted service.
  • Panaudia Link giving high quality reliable uncompressed streaming in and out. (Q3 2025)
  • Release of Panaudia Space server software. (Q3 2025)
  • Unreal Engine support with C++ SDK. (Q4 2025)
